Questions
What families ask us most
Short, honest answers. If yours isn’t here, ask it at a consult.
Working with us
Do I have to come to the office?
No. Consults, signing and document uploads all happen online. You’re welcome at the office on North Third Street if you’d rather meet in person.
Which languages do you speak?
Spanish (Elvira Covarrubias and Rodrigo Valdivia), Vietnamese (Thuy Truong) and English (all three). Tell us your language when you book.
Are you notarios or immigration consultants?
Neither. We are licensed lawyers. A notario or immigration consultant can’t tell you which forms to file or what your options are; only a lawyer or an accredited representative can.
Fees
What does a flat fee include?
All the work on the case named in your agreement, including replies to USCIS. Government fees are separate. Our fees page lists each one.
Can I pay in parts?
Yes. Any flat fee can be split into monthly payments without interest.
Is the consult free?
No. It has a set fee for 30 minutes with a lawyer, credited in full to your flat fee if you hire us within 30 days.
Your case
Can you speed up my case?
No one can make USCIS move faster, and anyone who promises to is guessing. What we can do is file a complete case, so it isn’t slowed down by a request for more evidence.
What if I have a deportation order or a criminal record?
Talk to a lawyer before you file anything. Some cases are still possible; others would put you at risk. We’ll tell you which yours is, and quote a flat fee if we can help.
Do you take removal defense or asylum cases?
Not at this firm; we focus on family, green card, citizenship and DACA cases. If you need a lawyer for immigration court, we’ll refer you to one we trust.
A question we didn’t answer?
Ask it at a 30-minute video consult.
